Calcined Kaolin

Calcined Kaolin is also known as Calcines Aluminium Silicate. Calcined Kaolin, one of the purest of the clays, composed chiefly of the mineral kaolinite usually formed when granite is changed by hydrothermal metamorphism in its raw form. It is one of the most abundant clay available in the earth crust. It is light weight and super white in color. It has high degree of brightness, low plasticity, ease of dispersion and good oil absorbtion.

 

Chemically Calcined Kaolin is known as  Calcined Aluminium Silicate (Al2O3.2SiO2)

Properties / Advantages

  High Purity - Stable, reproductive properties of end products.

Super white tone, good hiding effect, consistent color of end product.

 

Low Moisture Absorption

- Good molded surface, well suited for paints.
  Low Bulk Density -

Improves electrical and mechanical properties of composite.

  Low Iron Content - Low yellowness index.
  Constant Viscosity - Maintains constant viscosity in storage.

Application Scope

 

Used in emulsion based paints as partial substitute for TiO2, in extenders and for solvent based primers, etc.

Used as a coating pigment in varieties of papers, cardboards, hard boards and others.

Used as a filler in foam products, surgical gloves, Linoleum & flooring.
Used in general as a filler to impart strength & smoothness in plastics & PVC.
China Clay is used in toothpaste, cosmetic and soap industry.
China Clay is used in ceramic & rubber industry.

Used for electrical insulation, high voltage insulation compounds electrical wires, rubber and others.
